A seasoned and accomplished technology and entertainment marketing executive, brand builder and entrepreneur. Chris Accardo graduated with honors from the John Carroll School of Management (Boston College) with a degree in marketing and communications. During his time at Boston College, Chris was an NCAA Division 1 Swimmer, 3-time member of the NCAA Division 1 Academic All-American Team and an accomplished classical pianist.
Blending his love of sport and passion for entrepreneurism, Chris founded Endurance Films, an LA-based direct-to-consumer brand-focused content company. Endurance produced and distributed extreme sports entertainment world-wide. With a growing list of corporate clients that included Clif Bar, New Balance, Bollé Sunglasses, Speedo and USA Triathlon and a rapidly growing direct-to-consumer DVD business (with sales in over 40 countries), Endurance Films was acquired in early 2003.
Looking for his next adventure and having learned the art of composing for television and film, Chris launched his second start-up Fentik Music, an entertainment company that would eventually create and license original music and sound design for film, television, gaming, and commercials.
Fentik Music would eventually sign composing contracts with Disney / ABC Television Group, Telepictures Music / Warner Bros., NBC Sports and NFL Films. Chris’s television composing credits include Good Morning America, The Ellen Show, Keeping Up With The Kardashians, 20/20, Extra, The Oscars and more. He has worked with internationally recognized ad agencies including Leo Burnett, Digitas, 72 & Sunny and has composed music featured in commercials for Intel Corp., American Express and LinkedIn.
In 2012, Chris was recruited by Hint Studios, a creative content and experience design shop which produces commercials and live experiences for LinkedIn, Uber, PUMA, McDonalds, AMC, Sprint, Crayola, Dell and more. For the next 3-years Chris ran marketing, strategic growth and was responsible for opening Hint Studio’s office in New York while expanding accounts in Chicago and Los Angeles. Chris oversaw all digital initiatives, strategy and business development for the broadcast, digital content, interactive design, and original programming offerings. He negotiated partnerships resulting in Hint being signed to top talent agency, International Creative Management (ICM) and secured additional offers from United Talent Agency (UTA) and William Morris Endeavor (WME).
In 2015, Chris was introduced to Georg Richter, President and Chief Operating Officer at Guthy-Renker. Georg was preparing to launch OceanX, a spin-off of Guthy-Renker. OceanX would focus on helping brands launch, grow and scale recurring revenue programs. Chris was a member of a small group of founders and OceanX’s first ‘full-time’ hire. He currently serves as Head of Marketing, overseeing all marketing, communications and customer acquisition efforts including lead generation, content and brand strategy, public relations and all earned, owned and paid channels. With 80% YOY growth, OceanX now operates 4 locations across the U.S., 8 customer care locations globally and runs over $1B through its subscription engine annually.
Chris is an avid outdoorsman, recovering rock star and self-proclaimed science geek. He is most drawn to great creative challenges, unique projects, innovative technology, and being intrinsically involved with a company’s growth trajectory. And… he still writes music.
